The couple was married on November 24, 1953.

Henri and Marie Ange (Née Granger) Boivin celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on Saturday, December 29, 2018 in Falher, Alberta. Family members included their seven children: Ronald (Simone Desilets); Emile (Jeanette Pazuik), Pauline (Douglas Purcha); Jiggs/Gerald (Fiona Logan); Doris (Jim Pearce); Alain (Debbie Lee); Edith (Rick Mainwaring) and their respective families, including Henri and Marie Ange’s 17 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
After the morning libations and picture-taking sessions, a delicious lunch was served during which time official greetings were offered to Henri and Marie Ange.
Congratulatory documents were received from His Holiness Pope Francis; Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II; Prime Minister Justin Trudeau; Alberta Premier Rachel Notley; Member of the Legislative Assembly Margaret McCuaig-Boyd; the Tangent Yaremko Social Club.
The afternoon buzz resonated to the appreciative greetings of the jubilant couple’s friends and relatives, many in their eighties and nineties.
Many of these people also braved the inclement weather to bring their warm wishes.
Married on November 24, 1953, in Tangent, Alberta, they honeymooned at the Eaglesham Hotel before opening up a homestead along the banks of the Smoky River, before moving to the hamlet of Tangent where they raised their family.
Retiring in Girouxville, then Falher, Henri and Marie Ange continue to be avid gardeners, campers, chefs, and storytellers (Henri especially).
For their anniversary, Henri thoughtfully bought Marie Ange a one-month cruise to Alaska…slated for January 2020! Friends are welcome to join the cruise experience.
